My first day at work was good actually. It was pretty slow, however, since this shop is brand-spanking new. The morning was especially slow and I was a little sleepy. I'm not used to getting up at 5:30 am! lol In fact, to be honest, I'm used to almost staying up that late. I know...bad. But things are changing, thank God, for the better. And I'm making the effort to change that. Plus, my body is going to naturally be tired earlier so that's a plus.
Anyhow, yeah, it was quite slow, and all we really did was unwrap our two new printers and the laminater. What's cool is that all three of these pieces of machinery are the largest I've ever worked with, serious. And tomorrow the guy who set up the digital printer today is going to go over them with us, so tomorrow will be more like a training day, so I'm looking forward to that. Also, it's becoming clear to me now that I will be doing the sign-making training for the owner, his wife, his brother, and probably anyone else he hires at this point. Well, that's basically what they hired me for, both to be the sign maker/designer and to train them as well, since they are all new to the company. The owner and his brother are more experienced with computers and sales & marketing, which I plan on learning from them. hehe See...they think they hired me as their designer, when in reality, I decided to join them to get sales & marketing experience. mmhmm...it's all a part of my graaaand plan. Waaahahahaha!!! lol No, actually I think we'll be learning from each other so that's a plus.
Man...this chicken I'm eating, that I cooked last night...I think I over-cooked it cause it's a little tough to chew! Ugh I hate that! I can never get it just right. For some reason I have this fear of under-cooking any meat, whether it be fish, hamburger or chicken, so I cook it a little longer, which pretty much destroys the tenderness after refrigerating the leftovers. I mean it tastes fine the day I cook it, but the leftovers...blah. lol It's okay actually, but not really. That's why whenever I can, I'll just buy the pre-cooked chicken at Staters cause it's nice and tender, and good! I buy that small whole chicken, not the fried chicken. Man, whoever cooks that chicken is awesome! And it lasts almost a week, too.
Anyways, I need to look for some alternate routes right now to see if I can save money on that toll road cause it can add up. Yes, the owner is reimbursing me for a one-way trip, but I could sure save the money this week! Plus, it'll be good to get to know the different routes going down there in case of any major traffic. So until tomorrow...nite. =)
